Grants of up to £2000 available to local organisations

Tandridge District Council is inviting local community and voluntary organisations to apply for grants of up to £2,000 from the Tandridge Together Community Fund. The grants will be awarded in the new year to local charities and voluntary groups which demonstrate the work they do improves the health and wellbeing of people living in the district.

The overall fund available to local organisations is £20,000, made up of money raised by people buying weekly tickets for the Tandridge Together Lottery and the Council’s Small Grants Fund.

Eligible organisations are invited to apply for funding of up to £2,000 towards initiatives which will directly benefit residents in the district through one or more of the following activities:

Support people to be able to live independently for as long as possible.
Support people to improve their emotional and physical health.
Target services at under-represented and / or hard to reach groups.
Effectively safeguard people from abuse, neglect or poor treatment.
Support people to improve their emotional and physical health.
Reduce social isolation.
Help reduce reliance on alternative, higher cost state interventions.
Support and enable carers to carry on caring for as long as possible.
 

The form is available at www.tandridge.gov.uk/communityfund and applications must be submitted by Friday 22 November 2019. The grant allocations will be decided by the Tandridge Health and Wellbeing Board in January 2020.

This year, the grants awarded have helped a wide range of projects from collecting and distributing donations for babies and children, befriending services for older people, support for vulnerable residents and carers, as well as delivering mental health workshops in schools and supporting a variety of clubs, activities, outdoor gyms and play areas.

The success of the Tandridge Together Lottery is proving to be a really positive way to help local organisations raise funds directly and some also have the opportunity to benefit from this additional fund. The grants which were awarded this year have supported so many worthwhile projects and I look forward to the Board awarding more grants in the new year.”
