Did you know that horses can help when talking isn't working?
We are very excited to introduce you to Viewpoint Centre CIO and warmly invite you to support us in our mission to reduce social exclusion within the community.
Our innovative and well-evidenced behavioural change programme (https://www.viewpointcentre.org/evidence) uses specially Parelli Natural Horsemanship (PNH) trained horses to help ‘hard to reach’ people, who are disengaged from or not progressing with conventional talk-based provision options.
We use a highly motivating and action-based 1:1 approach, which teaches, rehearses and repeats key emotional and thinking skills in an intensive, challenging and fun way as each participant learns to work in partnership with their horse, supported by one of our team of THC trained facilitators (https://www.viewpointcentre.org/method).
The local community directly benefits from this work as we seek to address issues of the costs to local councils for family support/care workers, young people in our community who are NEET, crime and anti-social behaviour - thus leading to a more integrated and safer place to live.
We are currently seeking funding for our ReStart project, which is aimed at young people from 8-24, Participants come to us via professional referral and may be living in very difficult situations and struggling with multiple issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm and school exclusion or they might be victims of domestic abuse, crime, substance abuse and neglect, in or leaving care, young offenders and NEET. Each course costs £750.
We need your help so we can continue to improve outcomes for young people living among us. You really can help make a difference!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
With warmest wishes
Katie Dockery, Founder of Viewpoint Centre
