Lottery supporter wins £2000

11 June 2019

Last Saturday, Susan Frost from Kenley scooped our second highest prize of £2000 in the Tandridge Together Lottery draw. She was one of the lucky 47 winners who all won prizes on Saturday night.

Talking about her win, Susan Frost said: “I was delighted to win £2000 on the Tandridge Together Lottery on Saturday night. It was easy to claim the money and I have put some towards household repairs, while the rest is going to my children as my eldest child is off to University in September.

I chose to take part in the lottery because it helps me support our local Scouts group. 1st Whyteleafe Scouts is run by an amazing team of volunteers who play a really valuable role in teaching and training children life skills, which are so often forgotten about today. By playing every week, I can help them raise the vital funds they need to continue their great work, particularly as both my children thoroughly enjoyed their time as Cubs and Scouts.”

On Saturday 29 June there are two additional prizes to be won. As well as the top cash prize of £25,000, players can win a family day ticket to Godstone Farm and an afternoon tea for two at the Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick. On Saturday 3 August players can win one of three pairs of adult tickets to Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show.

The next draw is on Saturday 15 June at 8pm and every Saturday after that. Tickets cost £1 and all profits will go to good causes in the Tandridge district. Anyone buying a ticket can select the local good cause they want to support from those registered on the website. Tickets are available to buy at www.tandridgelottery.co.uk and residents who don’t have access to the internet can also take part by calling 01883 460555.

Councillor Beverley Connolly, Chair of the Community Services Committee, said: “Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and supported a local good cause. More than 3000 people have won on the lottery raising more than £82,000 for charities and voluntary organisations which helps them to continue their invaluable work. The huge amount of support shown for charities and organisations in the Tandridge district is fantastic. We really hope many more people will buy tickets and any good causes not yet taking part will sign up.”
