About Us:

7th Catarham Guides Senior Section provides a much loved and valued service for the community.

We are a relatively new addition to Caterham Valley. We are associated with 7th Caterham St Johns Guide Unit offering a safe space for girls after the guiding age of 15. We feel very strongly that young women between the ages of 15-25 should have a consistent, supportive environment to enable them to develop into positive members of society and develop into strong confident women, willing to help each other and support others in daily life.

To date the girls have been to Airhop, the cinema, skuba diving training (at Caterham School), movie nights, quiz nights, activity and relaxation evenings (in St Johns Church Hall)...

The girls have assisted as young leaders helping in 7th Caterham Guide evenings, encouraging Guides to stay when it can potentially look "uncool", training new Guides at camp with cooking, tent erection, communication and always support the Guide Unit at Remembrance Parade down Caterham High street.

A grant would enable us to provide a more exciting activity range to encourage more young women to spend their Friday evenings in a productive, healthy and supportive environment. We would love to be able to give more young women positive things to really look forward to at the end of their week, rather than potentially spending their nights getting into trouble.

To date we have been subsidising many activities for these girls out of our own pocket, but as we give our time as volunteers we could really do with the community backing these young Tandridge residents.

Thank you for your kind consideration
7th Catheram Senior Section

We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!

Thank you for your support

Yours sincerely
